LEADERSHIP PICKENS is a seven session course designed to build and enhance the leadership skills within Pickens County. The sessions will meet in October, November, January, February, March, April and May. Each session will be one day in length.

LEADERSHIP PICKENS’ curriculum focuses on skill development and community awareness. Local issues will help participants develop an understanding of various county, state and federal agencies. Participants will be encouraged to work together on a community project.

LEADERSHIP PICKENS is designed for present and future leaders – business, civic and elected leaders.

LEADERSHIP PICKENS is limited to 20 participants. The tuition is $100 and due by October 1st.

GOALS
LEADERSHIP PICKENS is about growing the leadership skills within people to meet the challenges and opportunities to improve the lives for the citizens within their community, school and county. The mission is to recruit and prepare existing and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds, for responsible public decision making. This includes developing a network of informed, committed and qualified individuals to serve the county.

OBJECTIVES

  • Provide training for persons which will motivate and direct them toward achieving desirable community goals.
  • Increase awareness of important community issues.
  • Develop a more cooperative attitude among communities in Pickens County.
  • Through continuous training, create an active nucleus of informed, concerned citizens to guide the future growth and development of Pickens County.

HISTORY Leadership Pickens began in 1992 and has been on-going with continuous classes. There are over 200 graduates of Leadership Pickens.
